Love What You Have
Whew! Six issues and going on forever!
We at Celebrity Living are happy with the way things are shaping
up for this magazine, despite the challenges we face. Personally, I could
not be any more thrilled with how my baby “grew up.”
That’s why in this issue, we are highlighting the good life and all
the things that matter to us.
Our cover girl Ruffa Gutierrez (whom I think is one of the most gracious
celebrities in the business) opens up on her life as a single mom and tells
us why she’s content with her life right now—with or without
a man (young or otherwise) by her side. She even shares the reasons why investing
in Century Properties’ Azure Urban Resort Residences is the best decision
that every mom or single parent should make.
For the first time ever, rocker Ely Buendia, whom we’ve been missing
these days, bares his modern industrial home in Sucat, Parañaque.
(Special thanks to Andi Trinidad for making this feature possible). His self-styled
house is a true reflection of his personality—edgy, modern and a little
rough around the edges. He told us he wanted a house that would look like
as though it came straight out the pages of Dwell magazine. Judging from
the way his house was decorated, with its unfinished walls, steel surfaces,
and all, Ely didn’t only create a house, he created his own masterpiece.
Robi Domingo, who gained a following during his Pinoy Big Brother Teen
Edition stint, takes us into his family’s Zen-inspired oasis
in a secluded area in Quezon City. We had a wonderful time talking to his
parents Robert and Mary Ann Domingo. I think they did a great job in raising
Robi.
Young and talented host Megan Young tells us why she’s not yet ready
to leave home. She welcomes us into her family’s QC apartment, which
she shares with her mom and two siblings. She also shows us her photographs
taken with her lomo camera.
Fashion designer Randy Ortiz, who usually shies away from the limelight,
gives us a tour of his chic condo unit in Makati. Maybe we can all learn
a thing or two about decorating our space the way fashion designers decorate
theirs.
***
Love what you have and live with what you have! Don’t ever let the
success of other people make you feel small. Stop coveting your neighbor’s
fancy car or his sprawling and well-manicured lawn. Whether you’re
staying in a fancy condo unit or living in a box, the most important thing
is that you are happy where you are.
The essence of being home (and creating a home) is not about finding a beautiful
space that you can show off to your friends. It’s about filling your
home (and by extension, your life) only with the things that matter to you
and the person/s that you’re living with.
True happiness, indeed, is found in contentment.
